In a post today on the Playstation Blog, developer Forge Reply said that their twin-stick shooter, In Space We Brawl, will be warping onto the PS3 and PS4 systems next Tuesday, October 14th. The game has a launch price set at $11.99 with a 20% discount if you happen to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber.
The game features 21 single player challenges for players to take on. Along the way, you will unlock some unusual ships and weapons, like a bio-vessel known as the Nargoon, or a flame thrower that works in space (called the Cosmic Spreader). In addition, you will learn the ins and outs of the various ships and weapons which could give you the edge against your buddies. So the single player experience could be thought of as training to help you in multiplayer.

There are over 100 combinations of ships and weapons to use in the game, with 11 different space ships and 11 different weapons. So there are 121 possible ship/weapon combinations, allowing players to find a combination that they really like and that works well for them. As mentioned above, some of these ships and weapons are unlocked in the single player mode.

In local multiplayer, up to 4 players can duke it out in a galactic dog fight on various battlefields (there are 8 in total). A multiplayer game consists of several rounds of galactic warfare, at the end of which you get to see your stats for that fight, as shown in the first screenshot below. Once all rounds have been battled out, you’ll get a different stats screen showing your overall stats for the game. This is shown in the second screenshot below, and you can see that each player gets a rank of sorts as well.

The wiki is not linked on the game’s website however, and I only found a link to it after visiting their Facebook page. If you are a very competitive person who likes to challenge your buddies or someone who just likes this sort of twin stick shooter, you might want to check this game out.
