If I wasn’t firmly planted in my seat, I’m quite certain I’d be bouncing off the walls right now. Atlus has released a new teaser trailer for their next highly-anticipated Shin Megami Tensei spin-off, Persona 5. There’s been very little information on the title since the first teaser trailer revealed last November. While this new trailer, again, doesn’t show much on the nature of the game, we have been introduced to a new character; a bespectacled high school student who I presume will be our new main protagonist. It appears as though the game will take place in an urban environment — a departure from the rural setting of Persona 4. Take a look at the trailer below:

In addition to this sweet new trailer, Atlus also revealed that Persona 5, originally announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, will actually be coming to the PS4, as well. The original “Winter 2014” release window also appears to have been pushed back to a more vague “2015.” Even so, it’s pretty difficult to contain my excitement. After the highly entertaining experiences delivered by both Persona 3 and Persona 4, the bar certainly has been set high for the new title.

Previous titles in the Persona franchise are available on Amazon:

About Tyler Lubben

Tyler is a lifelong gamer, getting his start on the Intellivision when he was three years old. After receiving his English degree, he discovered all those jokes about getting a job in his field were true. As Head Editor with oprainfall, Tyler is able to bridge his two passions; playing and talking about video games at any given opportunity, and being a total grammar nazi the rest of the time.

Everyone hyped for Persona, and I’m here waiting for more info on Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem.

    • Giordan

      It’s still in development.
Maybe we’ll see something at TGS?

Also, this was a SONY conference.

  • Vallen

I tuned in to watch that press conference at 2am-4am in hopes of seeing more FF15 news…..but I got this instead. And I think it’s better, I have nothing but respect and confidence in ATLUS. Unlike SE, they maintain quality and deliver what the fans want! I don’t even mind that the release is sometime in 2015 now since I know this game wont go on a 8 year hiatus

    • Giordan

I do wish they’d experiment like SE, though.
