The guys over at Triumph Studios have just released an exciting 17-minute gameplay trailer for their new expansion pack Age of Wonders III: Golden Realms.

It shows off the new playable race, Halflings, and goes into their stats a bit before showing you how the actual gameplay will work. It also shows off new maps, animals and even the new mode of gameplay. You can find not only the trailer, but some screenshots below.

This is definitely an expansion pack I’m excited for since I play this game quite a bit. To anyone not familiar with Age of Wonders III, it’s a turn-based strategy RPG. It has a lot of different things going on as well, like huge army battles, city building and completely customizable heroes. It’s rather similar to Civilization V but with a deep focus on magic, dragons and more in-depth battles.

This game also has a thriving multiplayer community, but it can be just as fun and rewarding to play by yourself. (That way people aren’t rushing your careful plans for world domination!)

Is anyone else excited for this? If you’re a fan, or just someone curious about the game, this is pretty exciting news. Golden Realms releases on September 18.
