Citizens of Earth - Logo

Citizens of Earth has certainly come a long way in a short time. The game, an RPG inspired by the likes of EarthBound, has gone from Kickstarter hopeful to crowdfunding failure to being picked up by Atlus. And as it moves closer to release, Atlus has given us some tastes of what to expect, including this new trailer that shows off how to recruit citizens into your party. Check it out (complete with description from Atlus):

The Vice President of the World has to get his hands dirty in order to save the world in Citizens of Earth. But not literally, because an unkempt manicure would ruin his Vice Presidential image. So what does he have to do? Recruit the populace to fight his fights for him!

But the masses won’t come easily – it has after all, been quite a while since “ask not what your country can do for you” was taken seriously. So in order to build out his political party, he’ll have to deliver on some campaign promises. Whether it’s rescuing and finding cats for the Cat Lady, shelling out a few bucks for the Homeless Guy, or corroborating some dubious evidence for the Conspiracy Guy, the Vice President is going to have to come through with his campaign.

Citizens of Earth will be coming to 3DS, Wii U, PS4, PS Vita, and PC later this year to North America and Europe.
