Today, Nintendo of America has revealed the rewards for members of their Club Nintendo rewards program. By registering games and consoles purchased, users can accumulate coins. Get enough coins on your account and you will be promoted to Gold, then Platinum status. Reach one of those and you will be given a special treat at the end of the Club Nintendo Year.

Unlike previous years,  the rewards are all digital downloads for games. You can see the rewards below:

There are a few solid titles in this lineup such as NES Remix, Earthbound, Wario Land II, and Super Mario Land 2 (a childhood favorite of mine). Which of these games will you be picking up?

Check out Club Nintendo.

About Justin Guillou

Justin joined Operation Rainfall after visiting the site numerous times and reading the articles on Xenoblade Chronicles. He enjoys searching for and collecting some of the more obscure video games out there.

THe fanboys are raging because it’s all digital games. Next month when I finally buy my WiiU, I’ll download Game & Wario(or eathbound haven’t decided yet).

  • James Best

I went with Earthbound. Never played it before.

  • Not as cool as the physical rewards, sadly, and I already bought Earthbound. But I’ve been wanting to pick up NES Remix for a while, so I can’t complain too much (though I would be pissed if I was one of the fans hardcore enough to already own all of these).

  • K

Wow, this is so disappointing. I believe all these games are available to pay for on the eshop, and on top of that, I already own half the gold games I could buy because of the 3ds ambassador gifts. Even platinum a few years ago could get even a nice collectible Mario statue; to be reduced to a simple download of cheap games I already own just sort of sucks…

  • smacd

Eh, I only hit Gold this year. And I don’t have a Wii U yet. The selection is incredibly disappointing. If I had Plat and/or a Wii U, I’d probably get either Earthbound or DKCR. But at this point, I’ll probably just give my code away.

    • Ghis

I would welcome it, Zelda 2 if you wish to send it to me !

  • RagunaXL

i was planning on a digital game anyways. their calendars aren’t to my liking. but… I have all the gold member 3ds titles. and i only achieved gold… and only have a 3ds…

  • Matthew Essigmann

Going with Earthbound. I always wanted to play it since I played Super Smash Brothers, and that 12 years ago!!!!!!

  • Lightthrower

Those are terrible rewards especially considering what Japan is getting!

    • Vinicius

What are the prizes in Japan.

    • chris

Plushies, shirts, game cases. And those are just the regular everyday rewards. I think the Platinum award one year was a classic controller modeled as an SNES controller.

  • SirFranku

    All my dissapoint

  • chris

Digital only isn’t bad. It’s the quality of the games being offered. Except for 2, every single game on that list could be one of the monthly coin games. The deal with MK8 and the free copy of Pokemon earlier this year were better deals than this for spending far less. In the case of Wario it’s almost as if they looked at a list of nintendo Wii U games and tried to figure out the one people want the least.

  • Lord Ackercocke

I’m not complaining as i’ve been holding off from buying Earthbound. Good thing cause now it’s free!!!

  • Jonathan

The whole point of the Club Nintendo is to promote buying games new. It’s meant to be a win win for everyone. More new games are bought means happy publishers and developers. Nintendo systems looks even better. And finally us the customers get the fun reward in the end. This sadly does not feel like a loyalty reward. This doesn’t feel like they are encouraging me to buy new. This feels like Nintendo being the cheapest they can be to save face. Almost a slap in the face to someone that spent hundreds of dollars to support Nintendo and maybe feel good about the reward. I really REALLY hope Nintendo does something to fix this because this isn’t doing what it was meant to do and that is bad for business.

  • Another_Unknown

Thank you Nintendo. I loved the digital rewards.

  • Tara

I find it a little disappointing with all the neat physical rewards we’ve gotten (I’ve been Platinum every year since the program started). I suppose my biggest gripe is that I already pretty much own all of the ones I cared to on the list, except for Dr. Luigi. Oddly enough, I was thinking about buying it a few days ago… glad I didn’t. But still happy to have gotten something out of it, so I can’t really complain. Also, was quite pleased to see that Dr. Luigi more or less contains Dr. Mario: Online Rx within it, since Online Rx no longer has a functioning online mode, this is great. (Though I wish I could use the classic themes in the Luigi mode, not a big fan of the songs that aren’t Fever or Chill.) But hey, love the Luigi animations on the side of the screen. But he looks way less scary than he has more recently…

  • Lumi

T_T All the 3DS games aren’t my type, and Earthbound is on Wii U. First year I reached Platinum and now it’s wasted. SIGH

  • Zelpok

Well, I guess I don’t have to spend $10 to get Earthbound anymore.

I know that it’s cool to be even getting gifts, but at the same time, I had to strive to get Platinum. I would pre-order/buy games as soon as they came out so I could get the bonus points. I would spend time answering the surveys thoughtfully because I knew I would be getting an awesome reward in the end. However, it’s not really worth it anymore. I haven’t liked any of the normal rewards in years, and only get things because my points expire.
