PRESS RELEASE
SHADOWS COME OUT TO PLAY ON XBOX ONE! COMPULSION GAMES LAUNCHES CELEBRATED INDIE GAME CONTRAST TODAY THROUGH ID@XBOX

Collaboration with Community Brings Forth Greatest CONTRAST Experience to Date

Compulsion Games is thrilled to announce today that its digital download adventure/puzzle game CONTRAST has launched on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program. Since the game’s original release on November 15, 2013, the company has spent the additional development time refining the game alongside the community to create the best CONTRAST experience possible.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about the community and the fans who have relentlessly supported CONTRAST and our small team from the very beginning,” said Guillaume Provost, creative director and founder of Compulsion Games. “Without them, CONTRAST would never have reached the success and awareness that it has today. It is with their feedback and constant involvement in making the game a better experience that we can achieve the high standards we’ve always envisioned for the game, and we’re very excited to bring this latest iteration of  CONTRAST to Xbox One users all around the world.”

CONTRAST draws players into a surreal 1920s dreamscape; a vaudevillian, film noir-inspired world where the boundaries between showmanship, magic, intrigue and deception are blurred. Players take on the role of Dawn, the imaginary friend of a little girl, Didi. Every imaginary friend is special, and Dawn is no exception: she has the unique ability to shift from the striking 3D fantasy stage into the mysterious 2D shadowscape. Like every family, Didi’s isn’t perfect; in fact they are as unique as they come with an aspiring cabaret singer mother and an absentee father.  Didi’s only wish is to reunite her family. As Dawn, use shadow shifting abilities to solve intricate puzzles and uncover the secrets that plagues the family’s past.

The acclaimed game, known for its unique shadow gameplay mechanics and fantastical enchanting visual style, elevates the experience with top-notch voice casting and an original soundtrack with lyrics written by Alex Epstein and Compulsion Games and music composed by Nicolas Marquis at WaveGeneration Audio. The cabaret inspired music coupled with the entrancing vocals of jazz singer Laura Ellis lure players even deeper into the world of CONTRAST. The original soundtrack can be previewed and purchased on iTunes for $5.99 here.

The standard edition of CONTRAST is available in North America for the PC from the Steam® Store for $14.99 and the Collector’s Edition is available for $19.99. The PS3 system and PS4 system versions are available through the PlayStation®Store for $14.99. The Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions are available via the Xbox Games Store for $14.99. This title has been rated T (Teen) by the ESRB.
