It was announced by independent company Versus Evil, on their website and twitter, that Redacted Studios will be developing the sequel to Bandai Namco’s 2009 hack-and-slash title Afro Samurai, which is loosely based off the manga and anime series with the same name. Versus Evil will be acting as publishers.

The sequel will be based off an original storyline and focuses on the character Kuma. You will also now have the opportunity to play as characters not usable in the first title. The game will be a third-person action adventure, with a co-op mode and an improved combat system.

While I like Afro Samurai (series and Game) I would preffer a new Samurai Shamploo game, that one was so much better.

Huh! I remember hearing an interview with someone who worked on the original, a long time ago…it sounded like they had a lot of great ideas for the sequel before it got canned. I hope this turns out well!
