Super Mario Bros. Title Screen

Over three decades later, gamers are still finding weird little tricks and glitches in Super Mario Bros. Just about everyone knows the trick using a turtle shell and two Bullet Bill dispensing canons for infinite 1UPs among others, but recently yet another infinite 1UP glitch was discovered. It’s best to let the video show how it’s done.

There are two necessary components to the trick seen above. The first is a glitch between Luigi and Mario. When Luigi dies while climbing a growing vine, the vine inexplicably grows into Mario’s turn. The second is the use of the Fuzzy Beetles found in World 2-1.

Unfortunately, this trick won’t be of any use to someone new to the game and looking for some extra lives to get through it. The trick only works after beating the game once and playing through it the second time around. That’s when Goombas are replaced with Fuzzy Beetles.

Suffice it to say that he has been known to play hours of Call of Duty multiplayer in between bouts of Persona fusing and Star Coin collecting while saving the world/galaxy through sensibly bald space marines or plucky teenagers with impossible hairstyles. Where does he find the time to write about them?
