Hardware Sales

3DS 26.575
PS Vita 14.735
Wii U 12.249
PS4 8.395
PS3 6.564
PSP 4.325
Xbox 360 231

Things are definitely down in this week’s Media Create charts. Hardware takes a tumble in overall numbers as both the 3DS and PSP take the brunt of the dip. Over in software, no new game really took ahold of the gaming public, with the top new game only moving just under 20,000 units.

The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki Evolution | Media Create

This week’s top new game is The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki Evolution. This is a Vita remake of the second game in the Trails-Crossbell Arc of the franchise. The first game in the arc, Zero no Kiseki, had already been remade for the Vita and was released in 2012. There don’t seem to be any plans to bring this game to the West.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red | Media Create

Next is One Piece: Unlimited World Red, which netted 3 spots in the Top 20. This is the latest release for the game, which was developed by Ganbarion (the developers behind Pandora’s Tower). Unlimited World Red will be released on PS3, PS Vita, 3DS, and Wii U later this month in Europe and early in July for North America.

Thief (2014) Logo | Media Create

The final new game this week is Square Enix’s Thief, the fourth game in the series created by the defunct Looking Glass Studios, with ports for PS3 and PS4 making the charts. This is the latest game from Eidos Montreal, the development team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Thief was released earlier this year in the West.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - Media Create

For returning games, Mario Kart 8 regained first place, moving past the 400,000 mark. Yo-kai Watch moved into 2nd as it stayed the course, dropping only 1% in units sold this past week. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth rounded out the Top 3, moving 31,472 units to break past 200,000 units for two weeks. Farther down the list, Mario Party: Island Tour is closing in on 400,000 units sold, while Kirby: Triple Deluxe just comes up short of 600,000.
