Adventures of Pip - PipPower | oprainfall

Pip pip huzzah! It has been revealed to fans far and wide that the one and only pixelated hero game, The Adventures of Pip, is set to relaunch their campaign later this July. This is great news for fans, since the campaign ended with only around a third of their goal of $90K. I was one of many disappointed fans to watch in dismay as the charming hero only reached this milestone and then sputtered into nothing. This after a promising start, with many jumping at the chance to fund such a quirky, unique looking game.

It is no secret that the team behind it, Tic Toc Games, are composed of former WayForward refugees, so you know the talent is there. WayForward excels at platformers, and they do visually stunning retro games, so it stands to reason Tic Toc Games has the same skill set. All of this made me scratch my head when The Adventures of Pip wasn’t initially funded. But then I began to become suspicious when they continued to update afterwards, even showing off a new demo at E3, all leading to a recent update that announced that they are indeed trying their luck again!

Granted, I don’t know how their new funding strategy may work. They may have found someone to help lighten the financial load or simplified the gameplay elements; It is also possible the scope of the adventure was narrowed. Regardless, I am hopeful this second chance will result in victory. Of the few Kickstarters I backed which failed, The Adventures of Pip is probably the one I want most to succeed (aside from edgy Shadow of the Eternals). I also fervently think it WILL succeed this time around. Until then, I’ll eagerly await new details in future updates.
