In an update earlier today on the game’s Kickstarter page, Red Thread Games announced that Book One of Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey will enter its beta phase June 27th. Book One will contain the prologue, the first two chapters, and the first interlude. Book One will be gameplay- and feature-complete when it enters its beta phase. This is exciting news and an indication that progress on Dreamfall Chapters is coming along nicely.
According to developer Red Thread Games, Dreamfall Chapters will consist of thirteen chapters across five books, with each chapter designed to be played in a single gameplay session. The number of books has expanded from the original three. The game will have a greater length and scope than initially planned due to the intricate nature of the plot.
Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey is the third title in the Longest Journey series, which began with the critically acclaimed adventure game The Longest Journey and was continued with its sequel, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. The series is known for the imagination of its universe, the quality of its writing, and the strength of its female protagonists. Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey was successfully funded through Kickstarter and will conclude the story arc begun in Dreamfall.
