It’s been a wild ride for Bayonetta 2. After many teases and ridiculously good trailers, Platinum Games’ highly anticipated sequel will finally hit a Wii U near you this October. However, that’s not the only new news about Bayonetta worth noting.

Ooh, check out that spider.

The latest trailer begins with the words of Rodin: “Dead witches get dragged to hell…It is what it is.” And indeed it is, with even more of the game’s epic action sequences showcased in the latest trailer. “I’m not one of the pets who don’t listen to their masters,” Bayonetta’s new accomplice, who first revealed in the trailer shown in April’s Nintendo Direct, also states. As with the first game, quotable lines and even some humor abound, and the action is once again Platinum-level hardcore.  But the biggest bombs were arguably dropped at the end of the trailer. Not only was an October release date announced, but the game also comes jam-packed with some ridiculously awesome bonus content.

And the crowd goes very, very wild. Also, don’t forget that glorious M rating below.

The blue and yellow Bayonetta 2 logo quickly faded to the shade of red found in the first game’s logo, and it was announced that Bayonetta 2 would provide, in the words of the trailer, “the entire Bayonetta universe in one package.” So, fans begging for a port of the first Bayonetta have finally gotten their wish (and can all relax now). Also, we saw some glimpses of costumes and, possibly, bonus levels in Bayonetta 2 featuring other Nintendo properties, including Link and Samus. Either way, everyone’s favorite witch is looking quite fine.

You know that sound…

Bayonetta 2 will release this October for the Wii U. Check out the glorious trailer in full below.

Will Whitehurst
Will joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign soon after news broke of that infamous French interview about Xenoblade. Subsequently, he got actively involved and became a staff member in July/August 2011. He is currently the head of the Japanese translation team, and loves to play, discuss, debate and learn more about games. Will gravitates towards unconventional action games and RPGs, but plays pretty much anything except Madden. He is also currently attending college, honing his Japanese skills and preparing for medical school. (Coincidentally, Trauma Center is one of his favorite game series of all time.)
