Microsoft Xbox: Game On Recap - E3 2014 | oprainfall

Last year, Microsoft was absolutely destroyed by Sony at E3. The effects of the conferences could be felt far and wide as Microsoft was sent reeling, with managers going into panic mode and gamers voicing complete disapproval of the company. Eventually, Microsoft did make the necessary adjustments, but the damage was done.

This year, Microsoft comes in looking to improve its position of third place for home consoles. They’ve already made some positive changes with Phil Spencer now at the helm but they still need to revitalize a fan base that was decimated last year and try to woo gamers to the brand. Can they do it? Let’s find out.

The presentation begins with a bang (or thousand) as they open with footage for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The game will be multiplatform but will DLC coming first to Xbox owners. The game will release November 4th.

Next, we have Moon Studios showing off a beautiful game called Ori and the Blind Forest (I think; whoever was directing this decided not to show the title when it appeared). The game will release this Fall.

Halo 3 Featured

Following the awesome reveal of the small title, we get the latest look at Microsoft’s big hitter, Halo. Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries introduced Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which includes all four numbered games. The game will also include all the multiplayer maps that appeared in those games. The Master Chief Collection will release on November 11th. In addition, the game will include Halo: Nightfall, a series created by Ridley Scott. As for the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians, the game will have a Beta coming in December.
