E3 2014 Ubisoft Conference - Assassin's Creed Unity

Ubisoft made a good splash this year at E3 with a bunch of news and exciting game footage, including new information and pics for Assassin’s Creed Unity, set to release October 28th 2014 on the PS4 and XBox1. Fans of the series are sure to be impressed by the graphics and new setting, that of the French Revolution. Besides the new four player shared experience, the game boasts an expansive systemic open world. You’ll bound over rooftops and assassinate foes utilizing great iconic diagrams and infrared-style targeting.

Players will play new Templar Arno, and make waste of your foes with sickles, axes, crossbows and other implements of mass destruction. I was especially impressed with the use of smoke and other atmosphere to obscure your vision and heighten the drama of the epic tale.

Though not much detail was revealed regarding the plot, it looks to be another dark and violent historic romp. Ubisoft made great use of showing rather than telling, using a extensive, probably 15-20 minute, video to illustrate the experience. Of special note was how you could consciously jump in or out of side quests and other missions, and the dialogue and crowd effects especially impressed me. Can’t wait till October!
