Halfway There Goals $20,000 and Under Goal Reached

Initial Goal Reached

Hover: Revolt of Gamers
Hover: Revolt of Gamers

  • Initial Goal: $38,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Oculus Rift support, Xbox One, PS4, Wii U

From the Kickstarter page:

Halfway between the crazy universe from Jet Set Radio, the interactivity of a Mirror’s Edge and inspired by movies like the 5th Element or Star Wars, “Hover: Revolt of Gamers” places itself on another world and puts you in charge of a band of Gamers revolted against opression and the anti-video-games laws that rules the city.

You’ll have to free the citizen restrained by the autorities, localise and then infiltrate into control centers of the anti video games propaganda, retrieve gaming consoles confiscated from the population to dethrone the new Mayor, who is the cause of all that mess. Beware, some new security drones are patroling the city and you’ll have to be vigilent at the cost of being chased and having to shake them off.

MechRunner
MechRunner

  • Initial Goal: $25,000
  • Platforms: Steam (Windows, Mac OS), PS4, PS Vita

From the Kickstarter page:

On June 30th, 1908 a mysterious explosion took place over the Tunguska River in Siberia, Russia that wiped out trees and wildlife for over 800 square miles. To this day it remains the largest “impact event” in our planet’s recorded history.

In the years that followed, dozens of scientific expeditions to the site attempted to explain the disaster but failed to come to any conclusions. In the mid-1940s however, a team of scientists from the Russian secret service visiting the site stumbled upon the wreckage of an alien spacecraft containing technology that far exceeded our own. In the years that followed, the KGB set to work harnessing this mysterious new power source and created a new secret weapons program – The Division of Advanced Weaponry or “O.S.O.”

They thought they could control the new power they’d discovered, but it began to do more than run their machines. It began to drive the men working on it mad. The man in charge of the O.S.O., General Yuri Petrakoff, seemed particularly affected and on April 14th, 1949, Petrakoff launched a full scale assault on Europe.

Before we go, we’d like to congratulate five projects we highlighted last week on successfully completing their crowdfunding campaigns:

Jeff Neuenschwander
Jeff has been a supporter of the website and campaign since the beginning. Joining in for E3 2012, he worked his way up the ranks quickly, making it to the Editing Manager post at the beginning of 2013. Jeff has a wide variety of tastes when it comes to gaming and pretty much likes anything that is quirky, although his favorite genres are Action, Platforming, and RPG. Outside of gaming, Jeff is a musician, being trained as a trombonist for Jazz and Classical music, and holds a degree in Sound Recording.
