Game of the Month - June 2014: Shovel Knight | oprainfall

Croaker | Shovel Knight

So a lot of you probably know about Shovel Knight and have anxiously waiting for it since it was crowdfunded. And like all of us here at oprainfall, you were probably excited when you saw that trailer with the late March date…and then came the announcement that the game’s release was pushed back.

Well, we may be in luck. In their latest update, Yacht Club Games announced that a gold master candidate of Shovel Knight has been sent in for approval. If all goes well, we should expect to see the game released soon after that.

And if that weren’t enough, Shovel Knight is also part of a new Kickstarter campaign for Pop Middle Ages, a series of print illustrations crossing pop culture references with a Middle Age-inspired look. Some of the references include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Gargoyles, fellow Kickstarter-funded game Delver’s Drop, and Awesomenauts. As of this writing, Pop Middle Ages has raised £1,072 of its £3,000 goal.
