Goals $20,000 and Under

Border | Last Call for Funding
Border

  • Status: £369 pledged of £9,000 goal. 5 days left.
  • Platform: Windows

From the Kickstarter page:

Border is a new take on the J-RPG genre, marrying it with western RPG elements.

This game is a love project, one with 8+ years of work behind it. It takes place in a massive and decaying world with incredible detail. Exploration is a huge part of the game, and thanks to environmental experience points, it shifts the focus of the game from just fighting.

Our focus is to bring this world alive, and allow the player to discover all of its workings and secrets, thanks to a well-envisioned, consistent world, player immersion is not interrupted.

Border was born from a drawing I made 9 years ago, it was of a ruined city overrun by nature, with a light shooting across the sky behind it. Slowly, after years of work, a world was laying in front of me on thousands of drawings, and hundreds of pages of lore committed to paper. For years I was working to tie everything together and make sure no plotholes and contradictions remained in this world so I can create the game I always wanted to play. And here we are, an RPG that brings the gigantic worlds and open ended nature of western RPGs, and the story focused JRPGs together.

You can try out the demo for Border by downloading it from the Kickstarter page.

Brandon Must Die!

  • Status: $515 pledged of $6,500 goal. 6 days left.
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, and Linux

From the Kickstarter page:

‘Brandon Must Die’ is an action rogue-like that takes place on an alien planet.

When I first set out to make a game, I asked myself “What would I like to play?”. The answer was: I’ve played hundreds of hours of ‘The Binding of Isaac’ and I really just want more of that! But… I’d like a new take on it, in a new environment.

You can check out more of Brandon Must Die! on Steam Greenlight.

ButtonMasher

  • Status: $790 pledged of $2,500 goal. 8 days left.
  • Platform: iOS

From the Kickstarter page:

Remember how demoralizing it was when your younger brother beat you at chess? He was five, you were ten? Do you remember how your sister beat you in the 100 meter race at the school fair in front of all your friends? Do you remember your mom slam-dunking the basketball over you when you were 16??! Well now is your time to show them who’s boss! ButtonMasher is a game to rekindle old rivalries with friends and family! Show your brother he’s not as smart as he thinks he is. Earn the right to say “take that, grandma!” as you smash her in multiplayer mode. Show your sister that it’s the speed of your brain that matters… not your, uh, legs… you see where we’re going with this.

ButtonMasher is about 80% finished. Even the online component is complete! We want to add dubstep tracks, animation, visual effects, and a few more features. Essentially, we want to make this game the best it can be… but we lack the financial means to do so.

We are a two man studio who want to start building games for a living. At this point all we need are tools for the illustrator/musician! 100% of your contributions will go directly towards tools.

From the Indiegogo page:

Once upon a time, there was a great tower in the sky. People were mining crystal with delight during the prosperous days. Until that disaster happened…… Time past, the history had been forgotten. And now, it emerged from the clouds again – the sky tower.

According to the developer Magichnology, the game is coming along well, with the game being playable. What they need help with is funding for necessary environmental art. All money raised for this Zelda-inspired game will go towards that.
