Supergiant Games, best known for their acclaimed hit Bastion, have another highly anticipated title in the works. There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the upcoming Transistor, and here’s the newest info: the official release date is May 20th of this year. PlayStation 4 owners and PC gamers will be able to purchase the game for $19.99/€18.99 /£14.99 on PSN, Steam, or the Supergiant Games website. Of course, anyone lucky enough to be attending PAX East this weekend will get to try the game out before the rest of us (including our own Jonathan, Jared, and Eric.)

During an interview with Kotaku last year, Greg Kasavin (writer and director of Bastion) described Transistor as “a science fiction-themed action RPG in which you discover this weapon of immense power, and use it to defend against forces that are going to try to stop at nothing to get it back from you as you navigate this futuristic city.” The gameplay appears to be a mix of real-time action and strategy RPG elements- a unique combination.
