Friends, I’m not happy.

We just received a letter from U.S. Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii. He’s the Chairman of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet. Apparently, we are not following the law by avoiding talk of military shooters and sports simulation games.

From Mr. Schatz:

It comes with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Operation Rainfall, LLC., is currently in violation of Public Law 111-148, also known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Under Section 6601, which is found under Subtitle G: Additional Program Integrity Provisions, which is found under Title VI: Transparency and Program Integrity, “No person, either as an individual or as part of a company, shall make a false statement or false representation of fact, knowing it to be false, in connection with the marketing or sale of ones product, whether it be given for free or sold for a specific price.” This provision was added in as a way to prevent false advertising in business, not just for health care.

Where Operation Rainfall comes in stems from a slogan you used before that said “No game left behind.” However, you routinely break from that by purposefully refusing to cover specific genres, such as the first person military shooter and sport simulation games. If you wish to avoid punitive measures, I suggest that you cease this action at once.

Obama
Thanks a lot, Obama.

Normally, Richard would usually be the bearer of bad news like this. However, neither he, Jonathan, nor Ryan were available to inform you of this. However, in an effort to become government compliant, they have given me the go ahead to stop our scheduled April Fools joke fest and start pumping out content related to military FPS and Sports games.

If you’re disappointed by this, so are we. But we have to do what we can in order to keep bring awareness of games that deserve your attention. If that means that we have to follow the government’s rather uneducated laws, then so be it.
