Next up, we go to the other side of the field to reveal the Toriyama bracket. And we begin with the number-1 seed in the Toriyama group…

Magus - Chrono Trigger | oprainfall - RPG Villain Tournament

Magus—Chrono Trigger

Perhaps a bit of a controversial number-1 seed, as Magus eventually joins up with Crono and his gang, but either way, he found enough favor with the staff to earn the top line in this grouping. Magus will be facing off against White Rock Shooter (WRS) from the video game Black Rock Shooter. It should be noted that even though WRS didn’t make the final in the Villain category for the 2013 oprainfall Awards, she was in the running to be a finalist.

The 8th seed in this grouping is Morganna Mode Gone, the evil AI from .hack. She’ll be facing off against the gunblade-wielding Seifer from Final Fantasy VIII.

The 5th seed almost needs no introduction, as we all felt his wrath as children: Blue from Pokémon. He’ll take his strategy to annoy into battle against Gongora from Lost Odyssey.

Ultros, a Final Fantasy VI villain who has more lives than arms, is the 4th seed. He’ll be in the fight of his life against Psaro the Manslayer from Dragon Quest IV. While 4s tend to beat 13s, Psaro is one villain you don’t fight to beat—you fight to survive.

Earning the 6th seed, out of Radiant Historia comes the master of spy games, Heiss. We’ll make sure to chronicle this closely as he battles Jowy Altreidas from Suikoden II.

The 3rd seed sports another childhood nuisance in Porky Minch from the Mother series. He’ll look to rule over the other villains as he begins his march against King Allant XII from Demon’s Souls.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

A man who shot up through the ranks in the last hours before seeding, Dickson from Xenoblade Chronicles, finds himself as the 7th seed in the grouping. He’ll be shooting for a win against Rubicante from Final Fantasy IV.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

And at the bottom of the grouping, we have Mithos Yggdrasill from Tales of Symphonia. He looked to rise up towards that top line but just missed out. He’ll be looking for revenge as he begins his tourney against the 15th-seeded Bob Page from Deus Ex.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Two groups down, two still to go.
