Humble Bundle Weekly Sale - SEGA

This week’s Humble Weekly Sale offers a number of SEGA games for Windows PCs. As always, this is a set-your-own-price kind of deal, and the proceeds are going to be split among the Make-A-Wish Foundation, WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation), Special Effect, GamesAid and Willow. The games may not be of top-tier quality, but there are some good ones here that may be worth your time. Let’s take a look (all prices in USD):

$1 or More

Alpha ProtocolWhile it was maligned upon release, the Obsidian-developed Alpha Protocol has steadily gained a cult following over the years. It seems that what was unacceptable at $60 becomes more bearable at less than $10. If you are interested in modern Western RPGs and stealth games, for the low price of $1 (or included with the games you really wanted), you might as well give it a shot.

Company of HeroesThis highly regarded World War II RTS was acquired by SEGA after THQ’s unfortunate liquidation.

Rome: Total WarThe first game in the long-running Total War series, this one puts you in charge of the Roman legions as they face barbarian hordes.

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead RabbitI don’t know what to make of this one. On the surface, it looks like an over-the-top side-scrolling shooter. Well, if you’re getting the bundle anyway, you might as well try it.

$5.99 or More

The Typing of the Dead: OverkillLike The Typing of the Dead? Like The House of the Dead: Overkill? This is The House of the Dead: Overkill with Typing of the Dead mechanics. If you like rail shooters and need to improve your typing, you might want to try this one.

Binary DomainAlso somewhat maligned upon release, Binary Domain has since gained a cult following. It’s a co-op third-person shooter set in a Terminator-esque world. If it were $5.99 for this one game, you might have to give it some thought, but at least other games in this bundle make it worthwhile.

Renegade OpsAn over-the-top twin-stick shooter with both offline and online co-op. A psychotic super-villian named Inferno is going to destroy the world, and it’s your job to stop him. Sounds like fun.

Ten classic SEGA Genesis games—Includes Altered Beast, Comix Zone, Crack Down, Ecco the Dolphin, Gain Ground, Golden Axe, Golden Axe II, Golden Axe III, Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master and Vectorman. It’s likely that you may already have these games in one form or another, but at least the Windows versions support save states.

Medieval II: Total WarThe fourth game in the Total War series, Medieval II puts you in the shoes of Catholicism or Islam during the Crusades.

$14.99 or More

Shogun II: Total WarTake command of an army of samurai in Shogun II: Total War. Be forewarned: this game is highly CPU intensive; that $600 graphics card won’t help you in this case. It also appears that this isn’t the Gold edition, so you will have to buy the Fall of the Samurai expansion (which adds early firearms to the mix) separately.

And that’s this week’s Humble Weekly Sale. Are you going to pick it up? If so, which tier?
