Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart 8 is getting a collector’s edition. This collector’s edition will include a little statue of the infamous blue spiny shell, known for its ability to seek out the racer currently in first place (even if it was the racer in first place who unleashed it). Nintendo of Europe released a trailer for the event, shown below.
Also, people who pre-order either the collector’s edition or the standard edition will receive a key ring based on some of the in-game items.
Lastly, the original Super Mario Kart will come to the European eShop on March 27. Anyone who buys it before June 30th will receive a £5.49 discount on the digital version of Mario Kart 8. It is noted in the press release that Super Mario Kart is the North American version, so the US could potentially receive the game soon as well, though this has not been confirmed.
