In a trailer released over the weekend, Swedish developer Simogo announced that their critically acclaimed horror adventure game Year Walk will be available on Steam on March 6th.
The Steam version will include updated art and multiple new additions such as new puzzles and locations, Steam achievements, and an integrated encyclopedia about the bizarre mythology and folklore that much of the game is inspired by. The encyclopedia will replace a companion app that the original iOS version required, and the new puzzles replace certain ones that rely on iOS-specific features. On their development blog, Simogo explain that many of the updates and changes were made out of a desire for the PC release to be a unique experience and not just a straight port of a touchscreen game.
Year Walk is one of two games that Simogo released in 2013; the other being the highly praised DEVICE 6. Both games have shown up on multiple lists of the best iOS games from last year, and now at least one will make the jump to PC.
