Series producer of the Shining series, Tsuyoshi Sawada, recently teased about a new entry in the franchise in a series of tweets on Twitter:

“Tomorrow there will be a little announcement, so fans please look forward to it. You’ll know it when it becomes morning. We’re trying out a new genre with the Shining series. Starting with this, I’ll be doing a lot of things this year.”

The next tweet came soon after, including this:

“The project that will be announced tomorrow is not an RPG. I’ve changed our [Twitter] icon to a meaningful image.”

Coincidentally, Nintendo’s latest Nintendo Direct will also broadcast in the same time span as the new game’s announcement. The possible announcement will be for the game to be on Nintendo’s hardware perhaps? Possibly not as well, as these have happened before with two announcements coinciding with each other.

The PSP entries, like other entries, never left Japan; so it would be a welcome surprise to see if this game gets localized, but best not to get your hopes up.
