Bravely Default - Battle Themes | oprainfall

Bravely Default has just been released and it has an awesome soundtrack! While going into battle for the 100th time or so, it got me thinking about how the music just never gets old, despite hearing it many times.

As a consequence, I started thinking about other RPG’s battle themes and how some just never get old, while others get old fast.

For something fun, I’d like to hear from you about which RPG’s battle themes never got old, and which got old fast. We’ll narrow it down to generic battles as opposed to boss battles. At the end of the week, we’ll post some of our favorite comments in an update article!

For me: The one battle theme that never got old from battle 1 to 100+ was “Reach Out to the Truth” from Persona 4. It seems like a song that could get old quick, but combined with bright visuals and fast paced gameplay, I would purposely go hunting for shadows just so I can rock out!

For one that got old fast, that honor (?) would go to Ni no Kuni. While it’s definitely not a bad song, after hearing it a couple times, I sort of had enough. To add to it, it’s the only battle theme aside from the Boss Battles and you’re going to hear it EVERY TIME until you mute it. Everything else about Ni no Kuni is solid though.

So let me know in the comments about your choices!
