If you’re an Xbox 360 owner and you missed out on Catherine, now is a great time to check it out. The game has just been made available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Catherine is a puzzle-platformer adventure game released by Atlus in 2011 for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. It follows the story of Vincent Brook, a 32-year-old struggling with committing to his girlfriend Katherine. At the same time, he meets the girl of his dreams, the cute and mysterious Catherine, which only deepens his struggle with commitment and his fear of being tied down by marriage. As soon as he meets Catherine, Vincent begins having mysterious dreams where he becomes a sheep and must, along with other “sheep”, endlessly climb towers. These sections are the puzzle-platformer portions, while Vincent’s interactions with others while he is awake make up the adventure portion. The player gets to help guide Vincent through his dilemma by making decisions about how the player feels about relationships and freedom. All this makes for a pretty interesting game that explores the nature of adult relationships and has some fun puzzle platforming to boot.

If you’re still on the fence, be sure to check out oprainfall’s recent review of the game to help you make your decision. And if you’re ready to buy the game, be sure to hop over to the Xbox Live Marketplace.
