Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn | oprainfall

A recent post on the North American Developers’ Blog announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be hosting a Free Login Weekend. This means that even those with an inactive subscription to the game will be able to log in and play for free this weekend. This includes owners of the original version of Final Fantasy XIV, as well as those who have registered A Realm Reborn. The free login period will begin on January 11 at 12:00 a.m. PST.

The blog post encouraged players to come enjoy the content introduced in patch 2.1, from trying out the 24-man Crystal Tower raid to challenging Good King Moggle Mog XII. The post also reminds players that the New Year’s celebration Heavensturn (pictured below) is still going on in Eorzea. All things considered, it sounds like there’s definitely some fun content to experience for anyone who has been away from the game for a while, especially those who have yet to try A Realm Reborn.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is the revamped version of the original Final Fantasy XIV which was released last year, three years after the release of the original game. The game is one of two MMORPG entries in the Final Fantasy series, the first being Final Fantasy XI. A Realm Reborn is currently available on PlayStation 3 and PC, and will be available on PlayStation 4 sometime this year. Owners of the original version of Final Fantasy XIV can upgrade to A Realm Reborn for free.

Overall, this weekend sounds like a great time for inactive Final Fantasy XIV subscribers to come back to the game and experience some of the new content they may have missed!
