Robot Master No. 6: Shade Man

Coolest Robot Masters | Shade Man (No. 6)

Number 6 is none other than Shade Man, the prince of darkness himself. This guy oozes style and flair with his bat wings and regal purple color scheme. Even better, he uses sonar as a weapon and feeds on the life force of other robots to recover energy (despite that making absolutely zero sense). And though it might be a bit unfair, he has one of the coolest levels of any Mega Man game, full of Halloween references. Could be a bit unfair to bump him up because of his level, but that’s what I’m doing. Moving on to…

Robot Master No. 5: Turbo Man

Coolest Robot Masters | Turbo Man (No. 5)

Oh, Turbo Man. Everything about you says cool—your badass stance, your pimping shades, your wheel shoulders. Oh yeah, did I mention he transforms into a car, hence the reason he’s called Turbo Man? Not many Robot Masters transform, and fewer look cool while doing it. Combined with his blazing speed, that more than makes him worthy of being this high up the list.

Robot Master No. 4: Gemini Man

Coolest Robot Masters | Gemini Man (No. 4)

As cool as Turbo Man is, he doesn’t hold a candle to Number 4, Gemini Man! This boss illustrates why I was such a fan of Mega Man 3. Not only does he have a unique and cool concept, he rocks a fantastic design AND has the most drugged-out stage of any Mega Man game ever! Granted, he’s pretty easy if you’re armed with Snake Man’s weapon, but any boss who fights you by attacking with duplicates of himself is aces in my book.

Three more to go—I’ve saved the best for last! →
