Escape Adventure: The Death God’s Train of Nightmares

Escape Adventure: The Death God’s Train of Nightmares comes out today on Japan’s Nintendo eShop. Developed by Arc System Works (Guilty Gear series, BlazBlue series), this is part of a series of games that have release on the Japanese eShop, with one of the last games being The Girl of the Old School Building. This game puts you in the shoes of Tokino, a Japanese schoolgirl, who finds herself in an empty, moving train unable to remember how she got there. She must explore this mysterious train if she ever hopes to escape it. Could it be the “Death God’s Train” that Tokino has been researching lately?

The escape puzzle game is quite popular in Japan. It’s basically an adventure game with the difference being that the objective is to escape imprisonment. The way out is a solvable puzzle, and all the necessary tools and information are hidden somewhere in the enclosed environment. This subgenre is only recently making its way to the West with 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and its sequel, Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward.

Escape Adventure: The Death God’s Train of Nightmares will be released through the eShop for ¥800. Check out some of the screens below.

Where does he find the time to write about them?
