Monster Hunter: Roar of Cards Logo

A new entry in my beloved Monster Hunter franchise has been announced. It shall be known as Monster Hunter: Roar of Cards, and as seen in the trailer below, will be out in Japan this winter. Roar of Cards will see Capcom pair up with Japanese social game developer, Grani, to produce the game. Monster Hunter: Roar of Cards will be hitting both Android and iOS devices via GREE, and has been listed in the trailer description as an RPG.

Check out the trailer below:

Now that you’ve seen the trailer, what do you think? I love the look of the art style in this one; it reminds me a lot of Odin Sphere. I wish the trailer had shown us more of the gameplay, but I guess we’ll have to wait a little while for that sort of footage.

Monster Hunter: Roar of Cards has not yet been announced for a Western localisation. I hope it gets one, because I really want to play it! Make sure you stop by the official website, which you can find here.

So, is it a card game, or something?

I honestly don’t know, which is why I wanted to see some gameplay. I think it will be, the the trailer really doesn’t help.

its really disgusting that capcom is supporting mobile phones more than real portable gaming (3ds&vita). just so they can fix their mistakes they made with their consoles games.

They’re running out of money. I don’t mind some mobile games to keep them alive, as long as they pick up consoles again later.

And hey, not all mobile games are bad – personally, I’m interested in seeing more on this one before I pass judgement on it.

sorry if it sounded like i hated mobile games but i don’t. i just hate that a big company like them are just making mobile games to get easy cash.

i don’t know if you read this

I have not… If they make good games, then okay, but… I still prefer my console games. :/ That’s a disappointing read.
