UPDATE: You can pre-order the Collector’s Edition right now at GameStop! We’ll continue updating as more of these “select retailers” become known, but GameStop seems to be the only place to pre-order right now.

Nintendo announced earlier today via Nintendo Direct that Bravely Default will be releasing in North America on February 7th, 2014. A collector’s edition has also been confirmed for release. “For RPG fans, Bravely Default is one of the most exciting narrative games on the horizon” says Nintendo’s Bill Trinen, and I don’t think there’s a better way to sum it up.

Bravely Default battle system

The Nintendo Direct features a segment that goes into detail about Bravely Default‘s battle system and Streetpass features. Trinen explains the Brave and Default components of the battle system and highlights the time altering capabilities that you can unleash with sleep points.

Bravely Default Limited Edition (USA/Canada)

The collector’s edition will contain the game itself, an artbook, 34 AR cards, and an OST CD. This edition will be also be available on February 7th, 2014, at select retailers.

    this is a must have

    • Lord Ackercocke

      Damn right!!!

  • DigDugDude

Normally I wouldn’t preorder games, but I feel like I may need to this time around considering it’s “select,” retailers.

I don’t wanna get price gouged by scalpers again after Xenoblade.

    • Pyrotek85

Yeah I wouldn’t have expected it to be in short supply so soon after release here. I’m starting to be more careful about getting certain titles early or you can end up paying through the nose later.

    • James Best

Well, that’ just the collector’s edition, right? I’m not too worried though. I mean, if I miss the game, I can always just download it.

  • M47R1X

Are there any preorder opportunities? Not seeing any, ATM.

    • Jared Cyhowski

We’ll be doing our best to let you guys know when it will be available for preorder. Sometimes it’s right away and sometimes it takes a while for retailers to be announced.

    • Fire Emblem Bundle took what…10 days? to show up in Gamestop’s system? I’ll have my ear to the ground as always.

  • Cove

GIVE US THE AGNES FIGURINE CE. 🙁

  • multibottler0cket

    AAAHHHHH!!!
    I’M GOING TO ASPLODE!
    Can’t friggen’ wait <3

  • RagunaXL

awhile ago gamestop added bravely default to their online library with a pre-order tag and shipping date of febuary1. so I knew something would show up on this Direct. I am glad to see it’s really really coming. I DO want those AR cards, almost as bad as the game. but the special edition, while it’s only available at ‘select retailers’, isn’t currently available at gamestop, xenoblade scam in mind. anyways. probably going to pre-order the regular edition unless the AR cards are deeply involved in the game or have their own deep game separate from the main title.

  • Lord Ackercocke

I’ll get the collector’s edition depending what’s being offered but i’m defintely getting this game.

  • Wildcardcorsair

    Hells yeah man!

  • Zanycat

It’s up on gamestop now for $55.

  • Klagmar

So does anyone know if the bundled OST is the complete one that’s going for $55 on eBay or a smaller selection of tracks like what was included with The Last Story? Makes a big difference towards the value of this edition, in my opinion.

  • Colin Vance

No AGNES FIGURINE that sucks. I wish it was more like the one in Europe.
