Capcom is celebrating dual anniversaries: it’s the 30th anniversary of Capcom, but it’s also Rockman X‘s 20th anniversary. In celebration of this, Capcom is releasing a 12-disc box set called the Rockman X Sound Box, featuring one disc each for the main series games—X to X8—as well as Command Mission, Irregular Hunter X (Maverick Hunter X), Cyber Mission (Xtreme) and Soul Eraser (Xtreme 2). There will also be a large booklet filled with art and liner notes.

e-Capcom is taking pre-orders for ¥12,600 (¥12,000 before tax). The Rockman X Sound Box will be released December 18.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.

In celebration of MegaMan X’s 20th Anniversary, here’s an overpriced collection of music you can get for free on Youtube. Also, a Strider game. Rejoice, peasants.

  • Thanatos2k

Yeah we won’t want to make a new one, just release some music!

    • Gurahk Weavile

Perhaps it’s a tease, to get you to think they’re only doing Megaman music now, and then surprise you later

    • Thanatos2k

It’s Capcom. What they actually come up with will be worse than anything you can conceive.
