The Guided Fate Paradox Feature

NIS America has recently announced on PlayStation.Blog the release date for The Guided Fate Paradox, November 5th of this year for North America – along with a new trailer to boot!

Over two minutes of brief explanations over the game’s various mechanics, letting us see the cast momentarily, and a glimpse of one of the supporting cast’s dub voice over. Check out the second trailer below.

In The Guided Fate Paradox, you play as the exceptionally ordinary high school student, Renya Kagurazaka, who one day wins a shopping mall lottery hosted by a cute girl. Your prize? You become God! And that cute girl’s actually an angel named Lilliel tasked with helping you out.

Now your job as God is to guide people’s fates by entering the Fate Revolution Circuit, a nifty doodad that creates a Copy World of reality. It’s in this Copy World where you’ll do battle against aberrations — the physical manifestations of the things preventing people from becoming what they want — and help people achieve their potential. But you’ll soon discover that there may be darker forces beyond just these aberrations that are trying to keep you from guiding these fates…

The Guided Fate Paradox  is PlayStation 3 exclusive, and it being a spiritual successor to one of Nippon Ichi Software’s other title Z.H.P., if you’re a fan of roguelike games, this one to look out for. The game will also arrive in Europe just a week before North America’s release date, October 28th.

Thanks for this! Just secured a Limited Edition Box from nisamerica!

Been interested in this one since it was announced. It’s basically a sequel to Z.H.P., so it’s definitely going to be a lot of fun, and pretty crazy. Then again, we’re talking NIS here, so of course on the crazy.

… I would point out, however, that the November 5th date has been known for a good while. 😛

The only issue I have is NIS games tend to be all over the board in terms of quality and value. I’m struggling with whether or not I should get this one.

I hear you on that, I honestly was passing on everything NIS put out for a while after I had run into both the Mana Khemia “calendar” bug, and the bug with Ar Tonelico 2 where the game would freeze on a boss battle if it wasn’t finished in less than 3 turns.

… which was a move I was kicking myself for later, because I missed out on some cool stuff. I started buying their games again at the time I got a PS3. I’ve honestly bought all the games they’ve released this year, including Time and Eternity (which I haven’t played yet, but fully intend to. On which front, I admit I’m going in expecting it to be campy and borderline offensively stupid after hearing what people had to say of it.)

Not to mention, those “collect stuff then do alchemy with it” types of games are a guilty pleasure of mine, and only NIS really delivers on that. (Well, technically Gust delivers on that. NIS just localizes and publishes. But you get what I mean.)

Like Ar Tonelico 2, this does does have a freezing issue at a boss battle, lol:
