Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

At Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013, Aniplex USA announced its English cast for A-1 Pictures’ Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, the 25-episode series based on Shinobu Ohtaka’s One Thousand and One Nights-inspired manga and directed by Koji Masunari, whose previous works at A-1 Pictures include Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW.

The English cast is as follows and includes fan favorites, veteran actors, and newcomers:

  • Aladdin—Erica Mendez (Newcomer)
  • Alibaba—Erik Kimerer (Haruyuki Arita, Accel World; AX Idol 2010 Voice Acting Winner)
  • Morgiana—Cristina Vee (Noel Vermillion, BlazBlue series; Homura Akemi, Puella Magi Madoka Magica; singer, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero)
  • Sinbad—Matthew Mercer (Kanji Tatsumi – Episodes 13-26, Persona 4: The Animation; Chrom, Fire Emblem Awakening)
  • Judar—Todd Haberkorn (Mithos, Soul Saga; Android 19, Dragon Ball Z series and games)
  • Jafar—Lucien Dodge (Kiz, Xin; Waver Velvet, Fate/Zero)
  • Masrur—Keith Silverstein (Zack, Dead or Alive 5; Johan Liebert, Monster)
  • Ugo—Patrick Seitz (Mondo Zappa, Killer is Dead;  Agil, Sword Art Online)

The English dub for Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic is scheduled to air on VIZ Media’s Neon Alley this October. The second season, Magi: The Kingdom of Magic, is scheduled to premiere in Japan October 6 and will air on Crunchyroll, Hulu, Aniplex Channel and Daisuke.net the same month. The first season is currently viewable in Japanese on Crunchyroll.
