TECMO KOEI Europe - oprainfall

TECMO KOEI Europe announced via their official website that one of their latest projects isĀ Deception IV: Blood Ties, a re-imagining of the PlayStation title Devil’s Deception. Also known as Tecmo’s Deception: Invitation to Darkness (North America) and KokumeikanĀ (Japan), the original game allowed players to walk the line between good and evil through the game’s protagonist, a man who was unjustly executed and managed to be given command over a castle in Hell. Just how cruel or merciful he can be is up to the player. The entire Deception series follows the premise of allowing players to take on the role of a villainous character instead of playing a stereotypical hero.

Deception IV: Blood Ties will be the latest title in the series and will make its debut on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. TECMO promises it will be an adventure title with a heavy focus on using traps and cunning to defeat enemies rather than brute strength. The title will also have Fatal Frame producer Keisuke Kikuchi on staff.

The fact it’s a ‘reimagining’ of the first game explains how it can be the fourth game when there’s five games. In the second game, it was hinted that it was a prequel to the first game. Putting Darkside Princess in it’s place, the games now are Kagero, Deception III, Trapt, Darkside Princess.
