Chronicles of Mystara | Featured

Here’s something a lot of you know: we run a featured dubbed “Nintendo Download” here at oprainfall, which showcases the digital download releases on Nintendo systems every Thursday. If there’s one game I see mentioned pretty consistently in the comments section on these articles, it’s Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara. Namely…where the heck is it, exactly? See, I know many a Nintendo purist who hasn’t been able to enjoy Dragon’s Crown, Double Dragon Neon or the many other beat-‘em-ups to grace other platforms other the years—so this would be a game they’re pretty starved for.

Bad news, folks: here’s official word from Capcom explaining that the Wii U version of the game has been delayed until September.

We regret to inform you all that the release of the Wii U version of Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara has moved to September. There have been a number of development issues and despite our best efforts, the delay could not be avoided. We realize this is a frustrating situation for everyone out there but we ask for your continued patience and support. Updates will be provided as the situation develops.

Thank you very much.

Sad times, indeed. Nintendo fans will have to wait a little bit longer. In the meantime, if you want to check out what all the fuss is about: I got to sit down with the game for a split-second at E3, or you can have a much deeper look by checking out our review of the PC version of the game.

For more digital news in the land of Nintendo, do check out our feature, which will be branching out to include Europe eventually. There’s also PSN Weekly, which is spun from a similar thread, but covers all the awesome stuff headed to PSN, PS3, and PSVita.
