Tearaway

Media Molecule has pushed Tearaway’s release date back by a whole month. Previously announced for an October 22nd release, the game’s new official release is November 22nd.

“We are now in the final stages of development,” wrote Rex Crowle, Creative Lead of Media Molecule. “And have come to the realisation that we need a little more time than we anticipated to finish the game; to tie all of the mechanics, story and amazing visuals together into the adventure that we want you to play.” To that end the team have decided to push the game’s release by a month.

On the bright side, Europe’s version has been delayed as well and is scheduled for the same day. Before, Europe had to wait a whole extra day for their version to be released. One must always look for that sliver of goodness to survive in this crazy world of ours.

Tearaway is a 3D platformer with a homemade papercraft aesthetic for the PS Vita. It makes extensive use of the system’s hardware features including the camera and the rear touch pad. Tearaway stars a messenger simply trying to deliver a message as opposed to trying to save the world from a paper shredder or something like that.

Suffice it to say that he has been known to play hours of Call of Duty multiplayer in between bouts of Persona fusing and Star Coin collecting while saving the world/galaxy through sensibly bald space marines or plucky teenagers with impossible hairstyles. Where does he find the time to write about them?
