Golden Sun: Cast Artwork

RPGs on hand-held systems have certainly come a long way. I think it’s fascinating to reflect upon how much these games have evolved. From humble beginnings to titles we’re highly anticipating—make no mistake, portable systems offer just as much to gamers as their console/TV-tethered brethren. Because the Operation Rainfall Retro Commercial Research Team (in other words…not me) is buried in work (to be honest, I think he’s buried in EarthBound), this week’s Wrap-Up, a “Redux Wrap-Up” because we’ve covered it before, will feature yet another (more complete) look at franchise near and dear to my heart.

Here’s to hoping the Golden Sun series will see another new dawn. You can read up some of my thoughts about the games, or you can take a look at the highlights from this past week:

David Fernandes reviewed Time and Eternity; that’s definitely been a popular one this week. Also, Brad Williams reviewed Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara. Steve Baltimore offered his thoughts on Mystic Chronicles, coming soon to PSVita. And in this week’s Games of the Past Review, Arik Yates talked at length about No More Heroes.

This week’s popular news involves a handful of PSAs to you all, the oprainfall faithful! To those unaware, PS4 Bundles have gone back up on Amazon.com, Code of Princess has dropped in price on the Nintendo eShop, and…oh yeah, The Last Guardian is still alive. Also: Liege is headed to the PS4, PSVita and Wii U. And… how many people watched the network television premiere of Sword Art Online last night?

Our Editing Team hand-picked your comments to follow up on our ‘Vote to Localize’ Poll, Kyle took a break from retro commercial research to offer ways to improve the Nintendo eShop, and on this week’s Downpour Podcast: gameplay, a contest coming soon, and EarthBound.

Last but certainly not least, here’s everything Charlotte and Jodie got to experience this year at PAX Australia 2013:
