More information has come up for the PlayStation 3 and Vita fantasy beat’em up title, Dragon’s Crown. Offering to answer the questions of fans, Vanillaware gave us some details on the title’s gameplay mechanics, like the ability to reset skills on your character and the level caps that will be placed on the multiple difficulty settings.

Vanillaware gave the thumbs-up on the ability to reset skills, telling fans that they would need to gain a conditional item to do so; but such an item will only be acquired through rigorous attrition.

When asked about the capacity of Elf’s arrow stock and her limited amount of arrows, Vanillaware reassured fans that not only will she be able to upgrade her arrow stock, but the Elf is far more than just a marksman. Elf players will not be stuck using only the default bow and arrows if they so choose. The game will offer the “Option Dagger” and the skill “Boots Enhance” to Elf. The former will allow her to carry a dagger alongside her bow, and the latter skill will give her stronger kicks.

Vanillaware also answered questions regarding level caps in Dragon’s Crown. They will rely on the difficulty option the player as selected. The starting difficulty will be “Normal,” which will cap the player’s characters at level 35. After meeting certain conditions on “Normal,” players can then bump up the difficulty to “Hard.” This will give characters a level cap of 65. Finally, at the end of the road, players will be able to jump up to  “Inferno, “which is the most difficult setting and will allow characters a level cap of 99.

Also, while the level cap is 99, players aren’t going to be stuck with just the default dungeons. Those who make it to the “Inferno” difficulty will see the ban on the “Labyrinth of Chaos” area being lifted. This closed area is a randomly generated dungeon unlocked after you clear the game. Vanillaware promises this will definitely test the mettle of even the most skilled players.

Dragon’s Crown is a title for the PS3 and the Vita that will be released in Japan on July 25th. North America will receive the game on August 6th, and Europe will see it on store shelves in the Fall of this year.
