It was just announced last month that the Collector’s Edition of Little Witch Academia would be headed to North America. Now, fans have something else to be excited about: Studio Trigger has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund a second episode. The announcement came out of Anime Expo this week. An official English website for the series has also been launched.

It’s not surprising that Trigger is turning to a crowdfunding campaign to make a second installment of Little Witch Academia. The first short was funded by The Young Animator Training Project, which, in turn, is funded by the Japanese government to help promote new and promising animators. Studio Trigger was chosen for 2013’s Anime Mirai, and Little Witch Academia was their submission. Now, it’s up to fans to help the studio create another episode.

Little Witch Academia is free to watch on both Crunchyroll and YouTube with English subtitles.
