Spike Chunsoft have released the opening trailer for their upcoming handheld RPG, Conception II. Check it out below:

The first Conception game was released for the PSP last year. At the beginning of the game, the main character, Itsuki, and his pregnant cousin, Mahiru, are transported into the world of Granvania via a gate of light.

Conception is an interesting blend of dating sim and RPG; Itsuki must charm twelve divine maidens from the Granvania National Star God Academy. When the affection levels between one of the maidens and Itsuki gets high enough, both Itsuki and the maiden will put some of their energy into a particular device in order to create a Star Child.

Star Children fight alongside Itsuki in turn-based battles, trying to rid Granvania of the Impurities that have plunged it into chaos and darkness. The class and skills of each Star Child will depend on the maiden who donated her energy; some will be more warrior-based, while others will have a mage’s mastery of magic. The higher the affinity levels between Itsuki and the maidens, the more powerful their respective children will become.

Conception never made it out of Japan, but hopefully Conception II will be a different story. Conception II is slated for an August 22 release in Japan.

Then add this to the campaign list, this is Operation Rainfall. We can’t just continue hoping for things to happen, we have to stand up and make them happen. Give consumers a voice. That’s the reason this whole site was started. No game left behind right.
