A slew of new games appear this week in the Media Create charts, including the critically-acclaimed The Last of Us, as it take the top spot in this week’s charts. Although, if you look closer at the numbers, it’s a bit surprising. Usually, when a game appears on the list, the console it’s on usually gets a bump. The PS3 actually went down about 1,000 units. As a matter of fact, nearly all consoles experienced a drop this week.

Media Create

The only console to receive a jump: the Vita. The system had some help this week from Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP and, for what it’s worth, Winning Post 7 2013 (which, from what I found, is a horse racing game). So far, no word has been given as to whether a western release will happen. However, with the recent history of localization for the series, you can bet that we’ll be hoping one happens. Also, if you can’t wait, and can read Japanese, the game is available to you now, thanks to the Vita being region-free.

Another game that we’ve been following that made its debut in this week’s Media Create charts is Sayonara Umihara Kawase. While it was able to make the Top 20, the game was only able to sell just over 11,000 units, leaving a possible localization in doubt. Hopefully, this isn’t “Sayonara” to this game.

One milestone of note this week. Taiko no Tatsujin Wii: Super Deluxe Edition, a rhythm game published by Namco Bandai, has topped the half-million mark.
