Soul Saga

Soul Saga, a JRPG inspired by old PlayStation classics, is currently 70% through initial funding of $60,000 with over 20 days left on its Kickstarter campaign. It was revealed earlier that developer Disastercake would be porting the game to Wii U, provided that an at-the-time unspecified stretch goal is reached. For those wondering how much it would be, you need not worry any longer.

The Wii U port for Soul Saga is set as the $80,000 stretch (originally set at $115,000; was lowered by popular demand). The mark is easy enough to make since the game raised $40,000 in ten days and continues to gain momentum as more people become aware of it. In addition, an additional $15 reward tier has been created to reserve a copy on Wii U. Backers for a copy on PC, Linux, or Mac can add $10 to add a Wii U copy, or vice versa.

Soul Saga Wii U Mock-Up

In addition to the Wii U port, over a dozen other stretch goals were announced. These are as follows: professional voice acting ($75,000), airship exploration ($90,000), airship combat ($100,000), job board for side-quests ($110,000), legendary weapons ($120,000), the ability to gather more guild members ($125,000; even more at $130,000), forgotten beasts ($135,000), a new strategic combat mode for massive battles ($150,000), the mysterious Atelier of Souls ($175,000), play as the evil Garen in his own story (my personal favorite; $200,000), special Pandora Boxes scattered across the world ($225,000), and what appears to be a guarantee that the game will have double the story and content of their original goal (I think; $250,000). At the current pace, they should be able to reach more than half of those stretch goals.

If you’ve yet to donate towards Soul Saga, you still have until July 15 to do so at the Kickstarter campaign page. You can vote for the game on Steam Greenlight, as well.
