D3 has quietly announced the release date for Earth Defense Force 2025. Be prepared to shoot down hordes of alien bugs on February 4, 2014 on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
The Earth Defense Force series centers around shooting down hordes of massive aliens, including giant, acid-spitting ants and ten-story tall robots. You play as a soldier with an arsenal of guns and explosive weapons to combat the coming hordes of aliens. That’s it. That’s all there is to it, and Earth Defense Force 2025 is no different.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t anything new to the series. The hapless soldier tasked to fight the aliens now comes in one of four classes: Ranger, Wing Diver, Air Raider, and Fencer. Each one has unique abilities that either take down aliens faster or help out allies. Speaking of which, the game features up to four player online co-op or two player local co-op.
While we have to wait until next year, Japan will get Earth Defense Force 2025 on July 4. Until then, check out the screenshots below and the fact sheet after it.
