D4, SWERY’s game seen briefly during Microsoft’s press conference, has been confirmed to be a Xbox One exclusive by SWERY himself.
D4 is an “episodic noir mystery” according to its mini-trailer. The man we see in the trailer is a detective who can “dive back in time.” He’ll have to use it to prevent the murder of his wife. We see gesture-based prompts during some of the action sequences, no doubt utilizing Xbox One’s Kinect.
SWERY, also known as Hidetaka Suehiro, may not have the same name recognition as Cliff Bleszinski or Shigeru Miyamoto; but he has still gained a following in a small circle of gamers. He is best known for his game Deadly Premonition. In it, the main protagonist must investigate a series of murders in a small town. His journey turns surreal the further it goes, and it doesn’t help that he constantly talks to his invisible friend.
No release date has been announced yet for D4.
