Cloud-Based Computing Good to Go

We’ve known for a while that the PlayStation 4 would be able to stream games via the cloud using Gaikai, but we haven’t had any confirmation on whether or not the PS4 would be able to take advantage of cloud-based computing for local games.

Today, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 can utilize cloud-based computing, similar to the Xbox One. These features can be used at the discretion of the developers. Yoshida has stated that Sony doesn’t think every title should require it, but to any developers who think they need it, he says, “Go for it.”
