Doki-Doki Universe | oprainfall

HumaNature Studio’s quirky-yet-charming title Doki-Doki Universe got its first trailer revealed during Sony’s E3 2013 press conference yesterday. The game has you fill the role of an adorable robot who is in danger of being crushed and turned into scrap metal unless it can prove to Alien Jeff that humanity resides within its metal frame. “How does one go about doing that?” you may ask. Well, the player gains “humanity” in Doki-Doki Universe by traveling to an abundance of unique worlds filled with eccentric characters, and socializing with the communities of each world. The trailer can be found below, and spoiler alert: it’s very cute.

Doki-Doki Universe seems to be less of a game and more of an emotional experience. If at a loss in life, the game could help one get out of a slump, and re-find one’s true inner-self that may have gotten buried under the stress of everyday life and mediocrity. Deep, huh? Another nice addition to this already impressive experience is cross-play between Sony’s PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita consoles. Sadly, a release date hasn’t been confirmed, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as one does.
