Deus Ex

Not long ago at E3, Square-Enix and Eidos-Montreal had announced that Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut, which was originally heading exclusively to the Wii U, is now heading to additional platforms such as the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The cyberpunk-themed RPG-shooter had been slated for only a Wii U release up to this point, so why the sudden change? Square-Enix sent a PR message to put its decision to light.

According to the PR message, the decision to port Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut was made after Eidos-Montreal received a large amount of requests from fans that wanted to play the game on other systems. General Manager of Eidos-Montreal, Stephane D’Astous, says that after announcing the Director’s Cut version for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, they’ve received an “overwhelming response” from the community of other platform owners. As a result, they accommodated them, following with a quote by Adam Jensen: “They asked for this.”

Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut will be seeing second-screen control from other systems outside the Wii U’s Gamepad. On the Xbox 360 version, the game will make use of the SmartGlass tablet, while the PlayStation 3 version will make use of the PlayStation Vita’s front screen. The second screen acts as a neural hub for looking at the map, managing inventory, and improving Jensen’s stats and upgrades.

There are many improvements in the Director’s Cut version for Deus Ex: Human Revolution: improved boss fights, polished balance and combat, improved AI, and the seamless integration of the DLC missions “Tong’s Rescue Mission” and “The Missing Link” into the game’s narrative. Extra features include over 8 hours of developer commentary and refined visuals.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut will be available for Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The release date has yet to be announced.

You can pre-order the game from Amazon or Amazon.ca.
