Order 1886

A new IP by Sony Santa Monica and Ready at Dawn was showcased at Sony’s E3 conference today. Titled The Order 1886, this new franchise bears a heavy steampunk look, combining both sci-fi technology and themes seen in the European colonial period. The Order 1886 was not given a  release date as of yet.

The trailer shows off what looks like London in the 1900’s, with horse carriages and early railroads that traverse the narrow streets. But the weaponry does not consist of muskets and flintlock pistols. Instead, the weapons used are futuristic guns that use energy-based ammo and rapid-fire ballistics. The Order 1886 looks to put players in the shoes of government agents, who use these steampunk weapons in a hunt against unseen monsters that lurk in the fog.

The Order 1886 is an exclusive title for the Sony PlayStation 4.
