Microsoft has announced the price and release window of the Xbox One. Expect it to hit the United States sometime in November 2013 at $499.99 USD. It will be €499.99 in Europe and £429 in the United Kingdom.

At $499.99 USD, Microsoft is ducking below the $500 threshold of the PS3. The PS3 infamously released at $599.99 USD in 2006, much to the chagrin of everyone involved. Since then, $500 has become the unofficial upper limit that gamers are willing to spend on a game console. Microsoft seems rather cognizant of this, and has set their console below that price.

Now, we wait for Sony to reveal the price of the PS4. Stay tuned.

You can now pre-order the Xbox One at Amazon.com.

About Karli Winata

Karli Winata is an avid gamer with a taste for a little bit of everything. Except for sports games. And racing sims. And definitely not hidden object games! I guess everything is too broad a term. Suffice it to say that he has been known to play hours of Call of Duty multiplayer in between bouts of Persona fusing and Star Coin collecting while saving the world/galaxy through sensibly bald space marines or plucky teenagers with impossible hairstyles. Where does he find the time to write about them?
